Reverend Lewis P. Graham, Sr.
Reverend Lewis P. Graham, Sr. was born in Conway, SC the third son of seven children to the late J.D. and Gracie Dozier Graham. He received his primary and secondary education from Popular Elementary School, Wampee, SC. He Graduated from Chestnut High School, North Myrtle Beach, SC and received both the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Divinity Degrees from Morris College, Sumter, SC. He has done further studies at Hampton University, Hampton VA. At the age of 17, he was licensed as a minister by Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and ordained by that church one year later.
Reverend Graham has had broad and varied pastoral experiences. He has served as Assistant Pastor to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Conway, SC, Pastor of Meadow Prong Baptist Church, Effingham, SC, Pastor of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Orangeburg, SC, Pastor of New Ebenezer Baptist Church, Florence, SC, Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Greenville, SC, and presently he serves as Pastor of Zion Baptist Church, Columbia, SC.
Some of his church and community affiliations include: a life membership of the NAACP, membership of Progressive National Baptist Convention, membership of South Carolina Education and Missionary Convention, First Vice President to the South Carolina E&M Convention, Trustee Board Member of Morris College, SC State University Board Member, Treasurer of Gethsemane Association, Treasurer of Progressive Fellowship of SC, and Global Mission Board Member of Progressive National Baptist Convention.
Reverend Graham’s reputation as a dynamic preacher, able leader, and a Christian gentleman has spread throughout the state, the southeastern region, and the nation. Among the honors and awards he has received are and Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree, Morris College, Sumter, SC, Excellence in Leadership Award, The National Council of Negro Women 5,000 Personalities of the World Honorees, recognized as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America, The MLK Community Service Award, and 25 Years of Christian Leadership Award, SC House of Representatives.
Reverend Graham is a man of deep humility dedicated to winning souls to Jesus Christ through preaching the gospel and living a committed life. Wherever there is a need for help, Pastor Graham is there to lend a helping hand, offer leadership, and remind everyone of his favorite motto, “that whatever is done, it should be done for the glory of God.” When one is in his presence, one feels the depth of his faith and realizes that this is a man truly called by God.
Reverend Graham is married to the former Mary Alice Gerald, and they are the parents of two children, Alicia Lewana, and Lewis Jr.
